Paper n Stitch

I just finished adding some of my prints to Paper n Stitch. The site presents a curated, rotating selection of products made by small independent arts and crafts businesses. I like to think of it as a shortcut to finding just the things I would love to buy for the upcoming holiday season, made by like minded small businesses. 

Some of my favorites are joining me in the launch of this new endeavor - fellow Portlanders APAK, Rachel Austin, and Matte Stephens. I also discovered some new (to me) sellers - I particularly like the Buns and Combs Print from Nosideup and the Years Print by essimar.

Giorgio Morandi

I first came across Morandi’s paintings in an oil painting class I took a couple years ago in Portland. The New York Times published a lovely review of the Morandi show at the Met. A couple of things jumped out at me - the focus on form, painterly qualities, and subtlety of color relationships, and the earthy palette.
